Last month I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to try some natural lipsticks from Karen Murrell.
To be totally honest I had mixed feelings about this. I’m not a huge lipstick wearer myself but only because the average lipstick often leaves my lips extremely dry and even a bit sore. So for this reason I was curious to see if I would get the same uncomfortable results from these natural lipsticks.
There are a few stand out features that make Karen Murrell lipsticks different from the rest.
- The first and most important being that they are made right here in Australia using natural ingredients such as Avocado oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Candelilla, Carnauba Wax, Cinnamon and Sweet Orange.
- The Cinnamon also adds a subtle but beautiful scent as you apply to your lips.
- Most importantly, the lipsticks contain absolutely No Coal Tar, Carmine, Mineral Oil, Triclosan, BBPs or Parabens.
Karen Murrell lipsticks come in a variety of shades from your soft pinks to bright reds. My favourite colour would have to be the Violet Mousse. A subtle but flattering shade.
The lipstick glides onto the lips well. It is not too thick and doesn’t have that sticky feel that you sometimes get with other brands.
Once on the lips it doesn’t dry out and I found it lasted really well.
To introduce you to the Karen Murrell range they have put together a clever “Starter Pout Kit” that contains 5 shades from each spectrum of their collection plus their conditioning moisture stick.
Especially for Valentines day they have also just released their Limited Edition Valentine’s Cosmetic Gift Set which contains 2 of their romantic shades (Including my favourite Violet Mousse) plus a gorgeous two compartment gift bag with a place to keep your lippies, make up brushes or other essentials you like to keep close by.
Do you have a Karen Murrell Lipstick? What’s your favourite shade?
Although products are presented for my review, all thoughts are my own.
