Do you ever just wish that when dinnertime rolls around all that was needed of you was to stop what you’re doing, sit down at the table and eat!
What if I also add in that the big plate of food placed before you is nutritionist approved, prepared by chefs and of course…. delicious!
For me, it’s a no brainer, it’s not that I don’t enjoy cooking, I don’t mind it, but more often than not after a day of looking after my 2 little guys, working on my blog and anything else the day throws at me, sometimes I just want my dinner prepared for me.
That’s why, when Eat Fit Food offered me the opportunity to try out one of their programs I jumped at the chance!
I had a choice of trying their “Cleanse” or “Clean & Lean” programs which each run for 5 days (you also have the option of 10 or 20 days). I chose the Cleanse as this program is free of wheat, gluten, dairy and red meat so it kind of resets your body which feels great and is an amazing start to the New Year. It contains approximately 1400 calories per day and amongst other things, is design to help remove toxins from the blood, organs and digestive system and provide better absorption of vital nutrients from food.
Each day you get:
- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- A cleansing juice
- Two snacks
The food was delivered to me on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning and was magically waiting outside my front door for me when I woke up!
No two meals were the same. The only things I got more than once were the juices – there seemed to be 3 on rotation so still a good variety and the delicious EFF Cranberry & Psyllium bar (which I had to fight my 2 year old over!).
The food was also incredibly fresh – probably because it comes from the Eat Fit Farm in the NSW Southern Highlands and all the meat and fish are ethically sourced.
To give you an idea of what meals you can expect, one day looked like this:
Revive Juice – Apple, kiwifruit, spinach, kale, lemon and mint.
Breakfast Parfait with Chia, rhubarb, cashew cream and Granola (I loved this and have downloaded the recipe off the EFF site to make again. You can get the recipe here)
EFF Cranberry & Psyllium bar
Lentil, green bean & beetroot salad with balsamic dressing
Rice Crackers with Broccoli & Zucchini Dip (I’m hoping they publish the recipe to this as even my fussy 4 year old ate it!)
Chicken Thai Larb Salad
In the lead up to starting this program I was worried I would be constantly hungry as I love eating, am a pretty big eater and never finish until my plate is empty (a habit I need to break!) but the portions were extremely generous and as they are so nutritious that they are filling. In fact some days I forgot to eat the snacks!
There weren’t any meals I didn’t enjoy. I had never had tofu before and probably won’t again but still enjoyed the two meals that included it. Upon signing up you can let them know of any foods you don’t want included so there is no reason to receive anything you won’t enjoy.
Eat Fit Food offer a number of different programs which can be tailored to suit your needs. Perhaps you just want to do a 5 day cleanse as I did or maybe you want something a bit longer – either way you are not locked into any contract so can stop whenever.
I loved it!
As far as how the cleanse made me feel – I definitely noticed a lift in energy and the absence of the 3pm slump. However the biggest thing for me would have to be the reduction of sugar cravings.
I loved not having to think about, plan or prepare my meals for a week and it was exciting seeing what was on the menu for the next day or two.
This is perfect for anyone who wants to take the hassle of preparing meals out of their day. Or also for someone who is wanting to eat healthier but feels a bit lost as to how. The food itself can’t be faulted, so incredibly fresh, generous and full of variety.
