Everybody knows that a store bought household cleaner spray is jam packed full of harmful and toxins – why else would we have to child proof the cupboards they live in once we have little people running around???

So why buy them?

Some people believe we need these strong chemicals to effectively remove dirt and sanitise our homes but that simply is not true! Essential oils such as Tea Tree and Eucalyptus have fantastic antibacterial properties, are readily available and are safe!

One thing I love about this particular spray is it has a soapy effect. Some of the sprays I have used in the past have the appearance of plain water and although just as effective it kind of feels like a product is “doing it’s job better” when you can see some suds!

So here it is…

Ingredients:

2 cups of water

3 tbsp liquid castille soap (I love Dr Bronner’s Almond scented one)

30 drops of Tea Tree oil

Method:

I like to mix together in a bowl or jug then pour into spray bottle. Make sure you pour slowly as it will foam up!

Let me know if you have any similar recipes you love!

Dr. Bronner’s is so great and I like how easy this is to make! Do you know how long this formula stays potent? If it takes me a month to use it, do I need to add more tea tree oil as time goes by? Thanks!

      Hi Michaela,

I don’t think you need to add more tea tree oil but I guess it wouldn’t hurt!!
